How To Take A Portrait Using Butterfly "Paramount" Lighting Setup | Photography Tips
   Create drama in your portraits! In this lighting tutorial I show you how to setup butterfly lighting using speedlites and a beauty dish. Made popular in the 1930's by movie studios looking to create a dramatic look for their actors and actresses photos. The difference between Butterfly and Clamshell lighting is the lack of or dramatically less fill light from the bottom of the models face.
