Lightroom 5 Workflow: Creating Photos Borders | Retouching Tutorial
Regardless if your experienced user of Adobe Lightroom or just started using it this morning. This is one of those tutorial that everyone will find useful. In this video I will show you how to create borders for your photos. So if your retouching photos for a website or a home album, chances are you will find this tutorial helpful.

About this tutorial:

Last weeks tutorial was fairly long, so this week I wanted to keep things a little shorter for my viewers. Creating borders, while very simple, isn't something I have touched on before so it seemed like a great time to do a video tutorial on creating them in Adobe Lightroom 5.

Learn The Best Practice For Setting Up Cards In YouTube | Tips & Techniques
YouTube has been finally getting a new feature out to the public to use in its video service called Cards. Cards is supposed to eventually be a Annotations replacement and has been reported to have a higher click through rate. So how should you set cards up, what is the best practice. I have put together a quick 10 min videos detailing my practice for adding cards. I go over what type and what times you should add them.

About this tip:

I wanted to create this tip because many of my watchers also have youtube channels of their own. So I wanted to help them get more views and show how I feel is the best way to setup cards in youtube. Now this video tutorial is geared towards the average youtube video creator who's main goal is getting more video views. My solution is however not geared towards merchants. So if you plan on selling goods, then your practices may be slightly different.

About this tutorial:

Color plays a huge role on how we perceive depth. In this tutorial I wanted to show one of the ways I edit my cityscapes and also introduce a blog I follow occasionally called Zevendesign. They talk in detail about color and how it is used in movies, photos and more.

The photo in this tutorial was taken by myself in fall 2014 while in Singapore. The image was taken at the waterfront. This is a panorama compiled of about 4 images. Camera settings used were ISO100, f/6.3, 1/4sec at 31mm. The camera used was my trusty Canon EOS 70D and the amazing Sigma 17-70mm Contemporary lens.

Lightroom 5 Retouching Workflow, Creative Lighting With The Adjustment Brush | Video Tutorial
Many users new to Adobe Lightroom 5 overlook the creative power that they have with the adjustment brush tool in the develop module. In this video tutorial I will show you another way to use this amazing tool to create some creative lighting effects in your photos using dodge and burn that will make them standout from the norm.

Pixie Dust © 2015 Exodist Photography, All Rights Reserved

About This Tutorial:

As a continuing part of my video tutorials on using Adobe Lightroom. I keep striving to come up with simple yet, creative tutorials for everyone. In this video tutorial I cover more on using dodge & burn to give creative effects in ones photo.

The photo seen above was taken with the Canon EOS 70D using the older Canon EF 75-300mm Mark III lens. The settings used was ISO 250, f/5.0 and 1/320sec @ 230mm. I used ISO 250 to help increase the shutter speed to assist in getting sharper photo in the case of wind causing movement in the flowers and also due to the effective focal length used (368mm). Even though the effective focal length was more then the shutter speed, I was taking this photo at only a few feet and being very careful. I used aperture of f/5 due to that being the maximum aperture available to me when I shot this at 230mm.

Sepia Toning In Lightroom 5, Giving A Photo The Old West Look | Video Tutorial

Sepia Toning In Lightroom 5, Giving A Photo The Old West Look | Video Tutorial
Sepia Tone can be a great way to give a photo the "Old West" look. In this retouching tutorial I will show you my split toning techniques I use in Adobe Lightroom 5 to create my custom sepia tone. In addition we will add grain to the image and then enhance it with dodge & burn.

Old West, Griz Gulch © Exodist Photography, All Rights Reserved

About this tutorial:

I prefer Sepia Tone over Black & White photos, to me they just have more character to them. I have created Sepia Toning tutorials before, but this time I wanted to show what you can create by adding some grain in your image and then using dodge & burn to bring the photo to life.

The image used in this tutorial was taken at Disney Hong Kong by myself in 2013. It was taken using a Canon EOS Rebel T3i (600D) with Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens. The exposure settings were ISO 100, f/4.5, 1/1000sec at 17mm.
